Meet The Team

Rapha Nascimento is in his second season with Iowa Storm and recently earned his USSF C License. A former head coach at Marshalltown Community College, Rapha led the program after helping guide them to a conference title and a top-five national finish. He is also the CEO of Segatto Soccer Academy and a key figure in launching the Iowa Demon Hawks, Des Moines’ first National Futsal Premier League team. As a former pro in Brazil and current player for the Demon Hawks, Rapha brings elite playing experience, strong leadership, and a passion for player development to every training session.

Chad leads our U11 Boys team with enthusiasm and a strong foundation in the game. After years of playing, he found a renewed passion in coaching youth players and helping them build confidence and creativity on the field. His energy and love for the sport inspire the next generation.

Ashley played collegiate soccer and earned her Iowa State D License in 2007. As the president of Iowa Storm, she brings both experience and heart to the club. Her mission is to create opportunities for players at every level while building a club culture rooted in integrity, development, and community.

Herbie is a lifelong student and player of the game who currently coaches our U12 Boys team. Holding his USSF D License, Herbie combines coaching experience with his ongoing playing career. His love for soccer and ability to connect with players at every level creates a competitive and supportive environment for growth.

A former collegiate player at Simpson College, Bryce holds a USSF D License and brings a sharp understanding of the game to our coaching staff. His player-first approach emphasizes growth, resilience, and game IQ. Bryce’s balance of competitive edge and mentorship makes him a strong influence on our athletes.

Mark is a collegiate-level player turned coach with a USSF D License and a passion for teaching. He is also the Academy Director for Bondurant Soccer Club, Mark focuses on foundational player development and instilling love for the game in young athletes. His leadership helps shape the future of our academy programs.

Hallie Vervair joins Iowa Storm as our U14-U15 Girls Coach and Director of Club Development. She brings a deep passion for player development and a strong coaching background, currently serving as an Assistant Coach for Grand View University Women’s Soccer. Hallie holds a USSF C License and has previously coached with Billings United, Montana ODP, and at the high school level. As a former standout at Montana State University Billings, where she earned Academic All-GNAC honors, Hallie combines high-level playing experience with leadership and vision—making her a powerful addition to our club’s future.
